Mohammad Reza Atashzad


Mohammad Reza Atashzad is a well-recognized international watercolorist based in Vancouver, Canada. In Atashzad’s vibrant landscape, architecture and floral paintings, light is employed for the expression of natural beauty. A fleeting emotional experience is mirrored by each of his artworks despite the haste required by watercolor painting. His paintings depict his deep contemplation, passion and blending of reality and poetic imagination.

 Atashzad holds a degree in Architecture from Isfahan School of Fine Arts and the National University of Iran in Tehran. Atashzad is also an esteemed Vancouver art instructor that teaches in different communities and art institutes. He has over 35 years experience in teaching drawing, painting, and architectural design. Atashzad is also the founder and director of the Atashzad Art Gallery and Art Academy in Tehran, Iran. He has held more than 150 solo and group exhibitions in Esfahan, Tehran, Rome, Florence, Paris, London, Moscow, Vancouver and other major cities around the world. He has published more than 700 paintings in the form of greeting cards, posters, albums, and books. His artworks reside in private collections worldwide.
