George Vergette

George Vergette


George Vergette is a visual artist based in Vancouver, Canada. He studied at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver as well as Kwantlen University College in Richmond. Working with a range of traditional and contemporary mediums, Vergette draws formal and thematic parallels between art history and forgotten or discarded aspects of contemporary society. He is known for his large scale process based paintings utilizing layers of epoxy resin or sprayed on acrylic as well as text work that investigates common assumptions of understanding.

Vergette’s work is held in many public and private collections across Canada and the United States including The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, The Cannacord Collection, The Canadian Art Bank, The Nordstrom Collection, Marciano Art Foundation, The Tanenbaum Collection and Holt Renfrew.
